Jet Lift Kit

Im looking for any information about lifting my 2012 Liberty Jet Limited. Im looking into a sky jacker 2.5in coil over lift. Whats the biggest tire you can run with the 20in wheels after install? Are the any pros/cons with the sky jacket system?

Skyjacker= NO
Same rating on the springs as stock and will sag quickly
Go OME or the adjustable coilovers from JBA
Do it right the first time and you'll be happy

04 KJ 4.5 JBA lift, 03 KJ 2.5 JBA coilovers,

I'm running 275/45/20 (29.74) no rub at stock height. I'm sure with a lift you can get at least 275/50/20 (30.84) maybe even bigger.

Tom confirmed what I thought lol. I was going to post last night that I think skyjacker had the same spring rate as stock, but wasn't sure so I just waited for Tom to say it lol

I guess if LibertyRS has those with stock height and no rub then they should work. I just have never seen anyone go wider than 265 and I thought that might even be pushing it depending on the backspacing of the rim

Yeah, going by how my stock 245/50r20 fit. I doubt I'll be able to squeeze 275's at stock height. Who knows ill find out sooner or later.

275s fit no problem with a 45 side wall. 275/50/20 will require some modification

Thanks, one more dumb question. My wheels are 20x7.5 (my mistake thought they were 8.5)I believe 7.5 might not be wide enough to mount a 275/45r20? Any input on that?

Best thing to do is ditch the 20s and forget about the rubber bands and get some real tires and wheels
Drop to 16s / good set of 245-75-16s and you won't be laughed at
Nothing much worse than a JEEP with 20s and tires that jar your teeth going over a wad of gum

Agreed with tommudd. Especially if you are thinking about changing rims anyway, best thing to do is go for a smaller rim and a bigger sidewall.

Agree with Tom. I have a 11 Jet 4x4 and I swapped my wheels with my wife's KJ which was a 4x2. I like the 16s with some very aggressive tires much much better. Not to mention my wife's KJ is much nicer with my jet wheels. I'm in a much better position for trails now!
