How much of a difference does it make and how long does it take

I used the Hypertech on my '08. The results were very good. On the highway it stays in its "power band" when passing and climbing hills. Prior to Hypertech upgrade my Liberty was constantly down shifting. Horse power has definately increased and I am not sure about the MPG...just installed last week.

One note of caution... this programmer is not ready to go out of the box. You have to install software on your pc, install drivers for the hypertech, access the hypertech website and configure your programmer. The computer interface is a bit crude, but works.

When you go to flash your ECU is very important that EVERYTHING is off. Don't open a door, operate a window, use a fan...nothing! Otherwise the flash will fail. Follow directions to the letter.

One problem I had is that changing the tire size yielded ESP/BAS and TCP warning lights. I called customer service, who gave me attitude, the end result is I use performance optimization for regular gas with no tire size correction. In retrospect, I would have bought the E-con model rather than the Max Performance model since there is no guarentee the tire sizing will work.

I like the Hypertech because you also gain the ability to read and clear DTC's and any time you want to go back to stock config it is a flash away.

The Jet chip just modifies signals coming to/from the ECU and I've heard your car will just relearn its old ways after a while. Hypertech completely reprograms the ECU and doesn't go back to being a slow turd. IMO

I love my Hypertech. It doesn't feel like anything is holding back the Liberty anymore. I noticed the most difference when accelerating from a red light. I started at 16.5 m.p.., now I'm at 19.xx m.p.g. I also added exhaust and cold air intake AFTER I installed the programmer.

Those of you using the Hypertech units, where did you get them and about how much did you pay?

It concerns me when a company doesnt take the time to upgrade their website. There is no reason today that a company shouldnt have a professional looking site. You can have one made for less than $1000.

For me a crappy site = no sale.

I have the Stage II jet chip at the moment and I enjoyed it like the others said your jeep does "relearn" its old code but you can fix it by re installing. It's very simple plug and play I noticed while using it that the jeep pulls a lot better when passing, has a nice idle note and i even got some mpgs from it!
