Issues with navigation mileage differing from odometer

My 2012 arctic Liberty is having issues with the oem navigation and the odometer not matching mileage.

The navigation system shows
10,890

The odometer shows 10,350

The dealer has no idea why it's not matching.

Only idea was that the larger tires are causing the mileage to be off?

Jeepcares can you assist?

Anyone shed some light?

If you have larger than factory tires that's certainly what's causing it. The odometer calculates off tire spin based on size.

I THINK they can starscan it to the correct size. Your nav would be the correct number of miles. I'm not sure if they can change the odometer (I assume yes)

Yep the non-stock sized tires are your issue.

Educated guess - I agree with matteagle. When you're driving, is your speedometer registering right?

The nav would be right because it uses satellites to determine positioning.

Speedo is correct ... Verified by outside gps.... Also dealer said they couldn't change tire size I will have them check it again when I go back for the break boot replacement and weatherstrip

Thanks guys sad to know I have more mileage than I thought lol

The navigation is getting its estimated miles from a GPS signal.
The odometer is getting it from the wheels.

You have oversized tires. GPS isn't 100% accurate all the time. A bad signal will cause errors in speed and distance. My Jeep has WAY more miles on it than it actually says because I've been running oversized tires on it since almost new.

There's no actual problem here.

Actually, your mileage is correct if you think in terms of maintenance. Regardless of tire size, your axle shafts and gears have turned that many times. But, as we all know, the weight of the larger tires tears things up, so it's all in how you wanna look at it. I say it's close, get over it.

Where do you check to see what the NAV system has for mileage? I wasn't aware it kept a secondary record.

I can vouch for that comment.

Notice the max speed? And yes that is in miles per hour.

well this is weird, i just took the rev/mile and compared the ratio between the two to your miles and it was a bigger difference. hmm
