Hypertech Programmer Issues

So Everyone. Recently purchased the hypertech max energy and just re programmed my vehicle to see if I could get the traction and esp lights to go off. With the programmer no matter what I do those lights are always on.

I called hypertech they said it could be I am picking the wrong tire size in inches. I have 245/75/r16 and I measured them and eye balled 30 inches. Lights were on. Then I looked harder and its more like 30.50 in from the center of the tire. Still the same thing.

Anyone have this issue when they first programmed their vehicle. If you did do you have a lift and tires? Or just stock?

Never had the issue before. Stock tires for me. Try not touching the tire adjustment and see if the lights still come on.

Check with your dealer. Those lights resulted in issues with my transfer case.

The lights go out when I program the jeep back to stock.

Did you just hit y all the way through? I didn't mess with rpm, cooling fan etc. Just gas and tire size.

Same thing happened to me. I just kept it at the stock size. Not really a big deal

OK i'll try that today. It would just make your speedo off a bit right? So at stock tire size when I actually have 245/75/r16 tires, if i'm going 60mph on the speedo, does anyone know approx how fast I am actually going.

I could ask the cop when I get pulled over but that might cost a bit more!

Did you guys update the programmer online before using it?
Does this happen to everyone?
I want to get one of these but not if it doesn't properly calibrate the speedometer.

Yeah i updated it before I programmed. There is an option to change the gear ratio from stock to 4.10's as well. I don't know how that would impact the programming. At the moment the way it is I have no traction control when the light is on. I tested it last night and fish tailed out of the driving range parking lot so the ESP stuff doesn't kick in. So at least I know that the programming disabled the ESP and traction control and didn't just make the lights go on while those functions still work.

Did it still make the chunky traction control noise at all? I hate that noise when drifting or doing whatever, when its "off"

Do you have 4.10s? If not, don't touch that setting

It didn't, it just let me keep on sliding around the corner, which I am not complaining about. But if I want that to happen I would rather intentionally turn it off.

I dont have 4.10's but I know TED15 does so I just brought that up for him since he is looking at buying one.

I should just send mine around the country and let people use it on the jeep forum!

Once you use the programmer it becomes VIN locked and it will not be able to be used on another vehicle unless you return yours to stock first... unless you're some sort of genius hacker
