If you're talking about the deleted roof rack dummies I wouldn't be concerned about salvaging them. If I remember correctly they are just held on by double sided tape. You'll need Goof off or similar product to remove the glue residue. Once removed you will see the threaded studs for mounting the new rack.

Good luck getting the goo off completely.. Goo Gone is basically ineffective in removing the adhesive. I did this and basically just decided to live with it. I figured no one will be able to see my roof unless they are trying to.
Support a fellow member and buy either the whole rack or just the side rails from Atthehelm. I wish I did, I'm trying to unload my RRO bars, so I can get his setup.
If they are the actual factory side bars, you just gently pry off the plastic covers at the front and rear, both sides. This will reveal some nuts, unbolt and everything comes off. There won't be any adhesive or tape to pull off.
If you have the faux covers, you just pull everything off and there will be tape residue to clean off.
