Hood blackout decal

Just wondering if anyone else would be interested in buying a hood blackout decal for their KK? Like the Arctic hood decal. Crawlorado.com told me they can do it for $60-$70. Just wondering if anyone else would be interested.

I would love to but don't know how confident I am with my installation abilities.

Maybe. I'd like to do it but I wasn't too fond of the one mopar had. That pinstripe with the little jeep logo that goes around the outside if the decal, I'm just not sure. I'd have to see one. I guess I should've checked first but is this the stock one?

I looked into this too, here are my search results.

-Option 1) Ebay-I found (what they claim to be) an OEM decal on ebay. My next door neighbor is a car wrap specialist (AKA he does vinyl car wraps) and he looked into it for me and said that the vinyl they are using is crap and will bubble from heat over time, also its a two piece kit (seam down the center)- COST $50
(Link to ebay)

-Option 2) Dealership Parts Department- I called a local Jeep dealer, and after having to explain what I wanted for 20min I finally got the guy on the other end of the phone to understand what I wanted. He found it and provided me with a part#. Cost $169.00 (cost is most likely different per dealer/location)

-Option 3) Paint- Whether you go to a standard body shop (collision shop) or a specialty place, you will be able to get this done for between $200-250. Being that the OEM sticker is 169.00 without install (I would pay someone to put it on) I will be choosing this option. I got two quotes for the paint job on was $200 the other was $250. All you need to do is explain what you want to any paint guy, tell him you want flat black w/o a clear coat, and it will look just like the decal. This may turn some of you off because it is so 'permanent' but keep in mind a vinyl decal will leave a sticky residue if you choose to take it off (also may take off the clear coat)

Hope this helps guys! My Liberty gets painted Thursday, Ill post picks after its done.

you missed the plastidip option. Not permanent and no residue and waaaaaay cheap.

Decided to take a shot at the Plasti-Dip method. The biggest pain was the masking everything off. Spraying was, well, spraying. It's when taking off the mask where issues began to show themselves. The long lines of the mask and the plastidip did not play well together. The dip would catch on the mask and peel up. The whole deal is shown in the images. Needless to say, it's coming off.

The last layer you're supposed to peel the tape before it dries so the tape doesn't adhere to the dip.
