help with part "pictures added"

so I posted about a weird noise that sounded similar to a chain dragging. dealership is thinking it's the boot connecting the drive shaft to the transfer case. from what I'm able to determine its called the slip yoke boot. can someone help me out with the actual part also is it easy to change?

Ok so I just talked to the dealership guy. its not the slip yoke. I believe its the boot connecting to the transfer case. it would be on front right hand side of the trANSFERCASE. I believe its this one. there looks to be grease spalttered all over the place.

I think you have the right source of the problem. I've read about this happening to KJ's, giving the same chain-jingle symptoms. Google over on the KJ side and see how they fixed it. I seem to remember that you could buy the driveshaft CV end for about $75, and not need to purchase a whole new driveshaft. I don't know if that would be true for KK's also, as our DS looks a bit different.

I cant seem to find a CV rebuild kit anywhere for the KK. I wonder is its even possible to repair?

If it is, post up the solution! As far as I know you are the first KK to have this issue, and I've been here and on LOST for a couple of years.

crawl up under there and check it. the noise was very hard to hear. you never know.
