help my jeep is making noise

ok so my 2002 jeep liberty started making a clicking/knocking noise from the right side here is the deal my mechanic said it was a stuck valve so we removed the head from the right side and had it rebuilt put everthing back together and what do you know the noise is still there 1200 dollars later. Then my mechanic (NOT MY MECHANIC ANYMORE) said its probably a wisp pin then or a bearing what and told me to cut my loses and dump it. I just about gave him a 1200 dollar beat down t that moment. any suggestions on what it might be how to check it and how to fix it and what it will cost ball park range thank you

You might want to talk to some of the fellas on KJ part of the forum. Moreover, if your drive train and body is in exceptional shape you could go with a complete rebuild from a good shop consequently, I heard the valve springs aren't the greatest. Or you could look in purchasing a complete motor rebuilt form Mopar or qualified engine rebuilder. It's up to you to work out the math. Sorry to hear what happened and wish you the best of luck.

When you get knee-deep in a situation, floor it.

Are ya sure it wasn't a normal sound? The 3.7L isn't the quietest engine in the world. I think we could all agree on that. Mine quieted down slightly after synthetic oil and been running lucas gas treatment every so often.
