Help me decide

So, driving back home from the dealer last night a car in front of me kicked up some sort of metal piece right in front of me....

Well it hit the front of my Liberty and broke the grill. I guess I am lucky since the grill can just be replaced by me in my garage...

So, I have to make a choice... Since mine is a Limited it has a chrome grill. I found both the chrome grill and a Inferno Red grill for about the same cost..

Do I get rid of the chrome and go body color or keep the chrome on the front.

Does the body color grill chip easily? I'm not a huge fan of chrome but they do seem to hold up better against stones and such....

What to do???

Whatever is cheapest. It would look good in black, or dark gray to mimic a Renegade style.
If you like the sounds of this, buy whichever one is cheapest and a can of Rustoleum in whatever color you choose or buy some plastidip.

It all depends on the look you want for your Liberty. IMO chrome makes it look "fancy" and not so much rugged. It does look good on the KK though.

Would you ever want to do the grill? If so I'd buy the cheaper one and dip it.

Broke the grill where? Pics..........

IMO unless you're ridding the Jeep of the rest of the Limited chrome I'd swap it with another chrome grill.

But is the existing one usable or able to be modified?

My jeep in also Inferno red. But not the limited. I saw a limited like mine the other day that had all the chrome and then had the red grill. Looked pretty cool. I have wanted to add the Chrome grill to mine but without having the other chrome pieces on my jeep I think that would look dumb. But you having all the chrome trim having the limited you can do either and it would look good.

It is totally up to you as far suggestions not certain if your old grill is reparable, perhaps finding a used one and repainting it. It's up to you whatever you do share some pics especially if you decide to be creative. Maybe someone could start making some metal grills for Lib lol. That would be pretty cool.

Good luck

So, I decided to go with the original chrome grill. Believe it or not, price was sort of a factor. Another factor is that the chrome grill is the OEM look for my trim level. It is a limited.
So now about the price. I started looking by going to some of my favorite OEM Mopar parts sites. I was looking at a part that was about $400.00 list, and a discounted price of about $280.00. This was for painted or chrome. So, off to E-Bay I went. Looking at OEM used parts. Price there running about $125.00 before shipping. I then stumbled on a add for new OEM chrome grill for $130.00 that even listed a part number. Back to one of my sites I went. Low and behold, the Accessory catalog lists a part 82211165 that is a "chrome grill for the sport" and they sell it for $128.80. It just came yesterday, and what do you know, it is the exact replacement for my grill. Even tagged as Made In the USA. I thought, heck this is going to be some sort of cheap insert or something. I will add to this post some pictures of the damaged grill and how you pull it off.

Honestly the grill comes out real easy and it is the easiest way to replace the headlight / foglight bulbs...

For reference I posted up the text from the same site I bought from, Mopar Online Parts.

Here is the OEM replacement part catalog listing for a grill.
