Hard Steering

I have a 2013 new 2013 Wrangler and my wife has a 2011 Liberty Limited which we bought new. We have always noticed that the Liberty seems to steer quite hard..been that way since new! My 05 TJ and my new 13 JK Wrangler you can steer with one finger! Has anyone else noticed that their Libertys steer kinda hard??

Big difference between rack and pinion(KK) and old style steering box(TJ/JK).The old sytle steering box is far easier to steer but loose the "connected" feeling to the road. The R&P steering, while a little harder gives better road feel.

x2 I always wondered if it had something to do with the weight of the vehicle. Might want to check your fluid just to be safe.

My wife noticed the same thing with her '11 KK.

The WK is R&P steering as well but is a 1 finger deal.

She does say now that her Libby is a couple years old (little over 28K on the odo) the steering feels easier.

It's always fun trying to make tight turns after a great workout at the gym.

Same with my '11 since new. It is a stiff steer. Almost like there is no power steering. ALMOST!

Mine was the same from new.
I'd bet that its that way to make it harder to tip over.

HAD THE SAME questons once and took my jeep to dealer and drove two need kks from their stock and they were exactly the same. so i figured out that i have to live with it.
last week lost my steering and had a new rack installed, along with new, steering nuckles, basically they changed all the lower steering components....... still the same.
