what modifications can I do to produce better gas mileage?

Pretend there's an egg (raw -- not hard-boiled!) between your foot and the accelerator pedal all the time. Break it and your mpg's will suffer. In other words, it makes no sense to race and pass other cars just to have them pull up behind you as you sit at the next light. Happens all the time and it simply amazes me that the lead foots can't seem to figure it out. Moreover, this seems to occur most often with the bigger, higher hp and heavier vehicles, like pick ups, full-size SUV's, KK's, etc. Maybe it's just an Arizona disease.

That would be me,hate taking 3 years to get to 30mph.I've actually tried the slow accelerating in my SFA KJ and it sucks twice the gas as WOT starts(very true,believe it or not),but then again my Jeep is far from normal in any way.
