Front Bumper Plastic Fascia

I was just wondering if I removed the plastic piece underneath my front bumper, would it cause any performance issues, reduced mpg, etc...

Haven't gotten a chance to look underneith to see how it removes but is it just held on by the usual plastic clips?

There is 3 plastic clips holding it. You just twist them out and then pull on the air dam till it pops off
