Am I the only Kk owner to just figure this out?

No. If you have the hard plastic backed seat it will fold flat. The fabric backed seats do not fold flat.

That was one of the selling point features for me.
You can fit a lot of 8ft lumber in your kk with the seat down.

Yep...great for large cargo as well as a mini table if your on a solo trip.
