Dumb question: What is the elastic band on the drivers side for?

It looks like a hold down for something? I cant figure it out and i searched on her for its purpose...nothing.

The elastic strap can hold folded maps. Some people use it to secure (sort of) their CB radio, if it is a compact design. I've never had much use for it.

Yea, i secure (sort of) my fire radio there until i get around to screwing it in. I also keep one of my LED Flash lights there.
