Driver's side door lock 2009 Liberty

My girlfriend's 2009 Liberty recently has a new issue. The driver's side front door won't respond to the keyless entry.

It won't lock or unlock, it will lock and unlock manually.

It is out of warranty on mileage.

Has anyone had this happen and where do I begin looking?

There must be an actuator that does this? Where is it located and how hard is it to get to?

Thanks for any feedback!

Maybe it's the CAN data bus. Do you have a scan tool/can someone pull a code?

No, but I can go get it scanned at Autozone, I think.

What am I looking for as far as codes?

Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself here.

If you were just going to throw a part at it -
The lock mechanisms are actuated by a reversible electric motor mounted within each door and tailgate. The power lock motors are integral to the door latch units. The power lock motors cannot be adjusted or repaired and, if faulty or damaged, the door latch unit must be replaced.

If you can get codes for free - see what they are - maybe that will help you start your search.

Here are some possibilities on what could be causing the door lock not to work-
(P930) DRIVER DOOR LOCK DRIVER CIRCUIT OPEN
(P930) DRIVER DOOR LOCK DRIVER CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND
(P910) DRIVER DOOR UNLOCK DRIVER CIRCUIT OPEN
(P910) DRIVER DOOR UNLOCK DRIVER CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND
DRIVER DOOR LATCH
TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE (TIPM)

Are we talking about this part?

I was just taking a look at my speakers and thought an actual pic of the mechanism would help (right rear door)

Absolutely those pictures help, I have never had the door panels off of this Liberty, so I was wondering all day (she had the Liberty with her) if they were hard to get off or not.

I appreciate you posting those, looks like a fairly simple removal or at least its not buried in the door somewhere.

Ok, so the panel is easy to get off, but I can't get to the mechanism yet.

I had it all apart, it started to get dark and she needs the Jeep tomorrow for work, so I had to put it all back together.

I didn't realize it would get so in-depth or I wouldn't have even started tonight.

Does anyone know what the process is to remove the power window motor? It seems I have to do that in order to get the panel completely off to access the door latch assembly.

I know it has three bolts holding it in, when I remove those, it seems to have tension on it, the last thing I need is for her to not have a power window when I am done!!!

Anyone?
