Crappy Gas Mileage 2011 Liberty Jet

I just bought a 2011 Liberty Limited Jet and am only getting about 11 miles per gallon!! It seems sooooo bad!! Is this normal? I got the same mpg on my Hummer H2!! Does anyone else have gas mileage this bad??

That is by far the worst MPG I have heard of on a new KK. Is it a 4x4? If so Command Trac or Select Trac II? And are you driving it in 4x4 currently?

If it is new, I could only assume driving habits.

11mpg around town in a hot climate is possible,AC on & stop and go driving.

Need more info, how many miles on vehicle? how many miles driven for each trip taken? and so on.

Thats pretty bad something doesn't seem right. Just got an 08 Liberty (w 22k) and it's getting exactly 14.018 mpg. I think THAT'S horrible :/

That's 90% city, easy acceleration and no AC.

I average around 19 just half paying attention my driving habits. Righ now getting 17ish thru mountains from VA-TN pulling a utility trailer! Hopefully yours will improve when it breaks in a bit.
As for the AC affeting mpgs, I think that myth has been debunked...at least for newer cars.

Normal depending of driving habits,AC use,and if you have less then 10,000 miles on it.

it is 4x4 but i don't have it on. And, I have been using the AC everyday as I'm in Illinois and its been very hot here lately. I'm also only city driving and it only has 100 miles on it so maybe that is why. It still seems low to me but maybe it will get better...hopefully

It will but will take about 10,000 miles before it reaches advertized MPG ratings.

Short city trips are MPG killers, plus you are still breaking it in. Take it out on the open highway and take a nice open road cruise. It will do the Liberty good to learn some new driving habits. Your computer is still learning your driving habits.....so go set it free.
I understand the weather, our forcast for this week is 107, 107, 107, 108, 107, 106, 105. The low tonight is forecast to be 89. They also said that the numbers projected for this coming week are forecast on the low side and don't be surprised to see temps hit 110 to 113 with no rain in sight. And boy I could sure use some rain to bring some grass back for the Longhorn to munch on.

I've heard from a number of people that it really takes some time for it to break in. I've got 40k on my 08 and I'm getting just under 20mpg with a nice mix of city and highway. I really had to teach myself to lay off the skinny pedal though. First few fillups were about 16mpg.

"Running electrical accessories (e.g., air conditioner) decreases fuel economy. Operating the air conditioner on "Max" can reduce MPG by roughly 5-25% compared to not using it."
from: http://fueleconomy.gov/feg/factors.shtml

Seems as though I may have been wrong. Oh well, I know I heard or read that somewhere...

I don't even want to know what my mpg is, I just put it in when it tells me to and try not to think about it...
