Chrysler Service Contracts?

When my wife and I bought our KK it was late and I was so overwhelmed by the new car buying process (first new car) that I wasn't interested in hearing the extended service contract sales pitch. I just got a letter in the mail from Chrysler the other day saying I can still buy one from them before our KK reaches the 12-month or 12,000 mile mark.

Anyone know how much these go for? Are there different levels of protection? I've heard the prices are negotiable. Anyone feel they got a good price they'd care to share? Or does anyone recommend looking at another company?

We got the lifetime powertrain warranty. Just looking for something to cover the rest once the 3-year/36k warranty is up.

Go to your dealer and see what he gets for it. You can look on the web site to get the list price. Negotiate. the dealer has room.

Thanks for the info. I punched it in on the website and came up with $1925 for a lifetime warranty that covers everything but wear items and has a $100 deductible. When they got my email they sent me an offer to take $180 off of that price if I signed up now. I think I'll swing by the dealership this week to see what they say.

I did purchase one from them when I bought my Liberty. I didn't get a lifetime but got 6 years...90k miles.

When I took it in the other day for the rear window leak I left with a rental car. They had to order the part so I went back that afternoon..turned in the rental and took my Liberty. When the part came in a few days later I drove it in and left with a rental once again.

I paid ZERO for the repair or rental. I didn't pay a decuctable either.

Works for me.

It also includes a Road Hazard warranty as well.

If I take the car in for maintenance and it's going to be a few hours...yep...leaving in a rental.

I do not recall what I paid for the warranty at the moment.

Had it been through another company besides Chrysler themselves I would not have even bought it.

I wonder if they know they spelled "warranties" wrong in their URL. Makes 'em look shady.

Funny. I did not notice that. I tried chryslerwarranties.com and it looks like someone already owns it. Probably a URL speculator bought it and Chrysler did not want to pay for it so they went with the misspelling.

I dropped by the dealer yesterday to get some service done. While I was waiting I saw the warranty guy and handed him a printout from Chrysler extended warranty, Factory backed extended warranties for Dodge, Jeep and Chrysler vehicles for a Lifetime MaxCare with $100 deductable listed for $1895. He came back with a price of $1825 so I bought it.

The only problem was I thought in NY the lifetime was transferable one time but he said it wasn't.
