Bull bar, roof rack and lights installed

This weekend i finally got the chance to make the drive back to ohio to install my long awaited Christmas gifts for the KK. I got the westin bull bar with fog lights, defender roof rack and 4x hella 500 off road lights. All of the lights are hooked up to ARB switches with custom covers from sierra expeditionshttp://www.sierraexpeditions.com/ind...uct_list&c=358

After reading some write-ups, decided to install the lights before mounting the pieces to the vehicle:

I discovered that the roof of the KK is actually tapered a bit to the rear when doing the test fit on the roof rack. As a result, it was necessary to modify the rear mounting points with a cut-off wheel. the parts that got cut out are marked in pencil.

Here it is with everything bolted up:

After much debating, decided to mount the switches on the bezel and in the console respectively. These locations worked out great since they had enough room to fit the back of the switch, a good grounding point, and a 12v source to splice into near by (the cigarette lighter/ accessory outlet)

Many hours later, all the wiring was complete and nicely secured :

Looks fantastic. Any chance of a photo showing how you ran the wires from the interior to the lights on the roof? Any night photos to share?

Also, what tire size, lift size and manufacture are you running?

Looks good man. What do you think of the bull bar? How sturdy do you feel it is? How does it mount up?

The Bull Bar is pretty solid 2" pipe mounted to 1/4" steel brackets with 1/2" Bolts. The brackets are actually a little beefier than the Mopar tow hooks and mount to the same spot so you will have to remove them to put the bar on. It feels sturdy enough for my purposes which was to have a place to mount fog lights. The bar came with free lights that you mail-in for and the whole thing was cheaper than buying the replacement housings with factory fogs or the $500 bull bar from mopar that connects with plastic pop-rivets! I might eventually get the tow hook welded directly to the frame somewhere else.

That's what I don't want. I am part of an off road club and one of the requirements is front and rear tow points. I would have to figure out a way to get the tow hook back.

It looks good. Were you able to re-install the front tow hooks?

No, the mounting brackets for the bar go in the same spot as the factory tow hooks. You could probably put some after market hooks to the side or directly on the bottom of the frame about 10 inches behind the front bumper.

The lights on the roof are all grounded up top, and the rack is grounded to the body with another wire. There are actually only two wires that go from the roof to under the hood, and three that go from under the hood to inside the cab through that rubber grommet in the corner of the engine bay near the steering wheel. The rest is all either inside the console or under the hood. I will take some better pics tomorrow and post them with more detailed explanation.

Thanks,
I picked the mounting locations, but I owe the credit to a professional electrician (step dad) to make sure it was done right.
