Anyone used the spare to find out...

...the jack is not high enough for a stock Jeep on original front tire?

But full size spare are awesome.

The stock jack should be fine. Maybe you're jacking it up from the wrong location.

I found out the stock jack is too short when you have a lift! I need to find a short piece of 2x4 to carry in the trunk, to give the stock jack a little more height. Long term solution would be a Hi-Lift jack.

I was wondering the same thing with my 2 inch lift.

I saw an extended base for the scissor jack at one of the festivals. It was like $70 though. It raises the jack up. Somewhere between 2"-4"

That is a good idea. Mine is stock but you never know when it would come in handy.

This happened to me today - I had to put TWO blocks of 2x beneath the jack to get the stock tire of the road.

What a load of bull**** - no wonder folks get to hate "Detroit"

My 2008 KK is bone stock.

UPDATE MY MISTAKE - - for rear wheel one is meant to jack under the axle - whereas I jacked on the body seam (nice and convenient :-) )

Front wheels are removed by jacking on the body seam.

My tires are MILESTAR P227/75R16 SU307 AWD 104H M+S

Funny a KJ jack, which I think is the same as a KKs, lifts mine up just fine, have to use it under the rear lower control arm or under the front LCA but lifts it up just fine.
Maybe look at where you are jacking it up at ?
Thats with over 4 inches of lift and 32s

Mine always worked. Like Tom said, I jack from the lower control arms up front or the axle in the rear. I do carry a 2x4 just in case though(and it's a requirement for the beaches here).

thanks kiwi for reminding me I didn't know where to jack my jeep a year and a half ago

I've always seen under the body, but after this thread, I looked at the manual (on both my jeep and my other car), I was always at the wrong location.

Still took the advice to carry some 2x4 just in case.

jacking lower control arms up front is not what the car manual shows for my 2008 KK

I've had the KK slip off the jack when I had it under the lower control arm. Scary stuff. That's why I carry a block of wood and jack at the recommended location under the "frame" rail.
