Alarm Issues

Alrighty Folks - my 2008 Liberty's sitting out on my parent's driveway, and I go out to start it... bam, my alarm goes off.

No open doors, no problems, no REASON for it to go off.

Cannot get it to turn off either.

Finally my Dad and I disconnected the negative battery terminal, left it for 10 minutes or so. When the terminal was reconnected, the alarm was going off, but was able to be shut down with my key.

Any clues?

bloody jeep... not impressed with that one...
