Air dam removal

I know a few of you have done this and I was wondering how to go about it. I would also like to know if there is a noticeable difference in wind noise at higher speeds, or a significant drop in gas mileage. It would be nice to get the extra 10 degrees of approach angle, plus I think it looks allot better.

I just removed mine last week. There is three plastic clips holding it on from the bottom you just twist them and then pull them out. Once those are removed you just pull the dam forward and it will pop out. I havnt noticed a difference in gas mileage yet, I drove up to the mountains to go snowboarding yesterday and everything felt as it did with the airdam on. It looks alot more aggressive with it off.

2010 KK, 2" Daystar lift, 245/75/16 BFG All-Terrains, interior LED's, front rear and cargo liner weather tech's, Pioneer AVH-p4400BT, GEX-P920XM, Kicker 6" in front 5 1/4" in rear, PB 2.75" in dash, Kicker 300.1 amp, Pioneer TS-SWX310, JK light bar with Hella 500 ff and 100w bulb, BOYO rear view camera, JBA exhaust, K&N drop in filter and more to come.

No additional noise, difference in gas mileage is negligible.

Thanks for the input guys. I think I'm going to go ahead and remove mine once I get the lift put on in a few weeks. I'll try to take a few pics for a how-to for anyone else that might want to remove theirs.

Its the black plastic piece that is at the very bottom of the bumper. I took mine off the second i realized it could come off! Looks way better without it.

Meh, look at diggers and Mtnluvrs rides. Their's are WAYYYY more exposed with mtnluvrs custom front bumper and they haven't had any issues yet. (that i know of)

I'm thinking about taking mine off. I'm not lifted and won't be for another year or so. My warranty should be up in a year or 2 with the mileage I'm putting on the truck lol. Then I'll lift it. My Dad did agree to let me level the truck though (I'm only 18, and they make the payments on the truck, it's a deal with me doing well in school/ my family giving everyone their 1st car and my 1st got rearended and totaled) so maybe after leveling or when the ground warms up I'll do it. It'll help give the look of more lift.

Musclez - the KK airdam is so thin it doesn't make much sense why they even have one. I know what you mean about the exposure. I think yours looks good either way. It's a different rig, but I took the airdam off the WK after lifting it. It is a more substantial piece and would probably get anhihilated when wheelin. I like it better without it. I definately want a front skid plate, though . . .
