Air Bag light

Search is only getting me every reference to "light" so I have to ask.

I have a 2008 KK that the air bag light is on. My wife said it just came on one day but she never hit anything or got into any kind of accident. Is there a reset for this or do I have to take it in to get checked out?

Thanks for your time.

Take it to the dealer asap, you wouldn't want to have an accident and not have the bags working correctly

Airbag light.

When the vehicle is on, and the the airbag system finds a fault the light will come on and a chime will sound. It will reset if the fault corrects itself, such as a poor connection.
Have a dealer check it out. The issue does not usually clear up on its own and the components are costly.
I had a 99 Gd Cherokee with an airbag issue. It was the clockspring in the steering wheel that started to have poor contact.

I agree with DanFxr the clockspring is most of the time the problem.
