7500 miles and suspension problems.

Bought my 2012 Liberty Arctic right when winter ended. I've gone off roading twice on actual trails. Other than that whatever I can do in the back yard. My only problem is I drove over a speed bump today and the suspension sounded like a cheap motel mattress. How is it possible that the suspension sounds like that already? I didn't push it real hard on the trails, didn't fly over the trails, and basically crawled through puddles.

Also, how picky will the dealership be if I bring it in and try to have the warranty cover this?

Any help is appreciated.

As long as you didn't run into something and mangle the suspension components, it's covered under warranty. The Jeep is advertised as an off-road vehicle, that does not void your warranty.

Off road vehicles make noise. The components get covered in dirt, dust, mud, etc. Give it a good bath, including an undercarriage wash. I'm sure it's fine. Hey, it is a Jeep after all, creaks and leaks are its way of reminding us of that.

Yep if you play in the mud the 1st thing should be to clean the undercarriage very well with high pressure water.Mud destroys seals,bushings,u-joints,and promotes faster corrosion.Don't wait for it to rain or 3-4 weeks later since "it looks cool to be covered in mud".

Sway bar bushings would be suspect. Offroading stresses them on any vehicle, if you do not use disconnects. Get some silicone spray, and lube them, and see if it goes away.

The only problem with this is that I went offroading on Saturday and it started making noise from the wheel well. So instead of me just power washing it, I took it to an actual car wash and got the under body wash. Noise was still there in the wheel well. Pulled off the wheel and found a tiny stick stuck in the brake rubbing against the disk. Took that out and noise went away. Later in the week when I would turn hard and have some speed (on regular roads) there was a sharp screeching noise. It comes and goes. Haven't gone offroading inbetween the wash and that next noise.

Those automatic car washes, the ones you drive through, are worthless for there undercarriage wash.May get 5% or less of anything actually clean. You need to spend a good 10-20mins with the self serve powerwasher and get in every nook and crany.Yes you will get wet.

The phrase "gotta pay to play" comes into effect. You took it offroad and any damage done offroad is not a warranty issue.Blah.blah,blah you see the adds with Jeeps offroad so they must not break offroad.Well it will break and if offroad it's not a warranty issue, just how it is.When you break it offroad you went passed the limits, which sadly these days in stock form is no more then soccer mom duty, and just a reason to upgrade.

So then let me ask...good suspension for a 2012 liberty? I've done some looking around and it seems the only one I can find is a Rock Krawler X Factor or something like that. 3.5" in the front and 2" spacers for the back.
