5W-40 on Liberty KK 3.7

I have just changed oil on my Jeep Liberty KK 3.7 and the garage guy told me that he used 5W-40 instead of 5W-20 or 5W-30 that the user manual recommends
Is that ok or I need to go back and ask him to change the oil again
Please help

Use only 5w20 or 5w30,have them change it to the correct oil now on there dime.5w40 is only for the CRD's.

It far away from where I live
Do you suggest keep this oil for 2000-3000 miles or change it immediately?

Usually 5w40 is for diesel engines only, it is to thick and has the wrong additives in it for a gasoline engine. If it was my KK I would replace it as soon as possible just to be safe.

I replace my oil every 2000 miles. Pennzoil 5w-20 and a puralator gold filter.
Oil turns dark after 1500 miles but not black or sludgy
