4.10 Differentials Gears

I'm looking into swapping gears to a 4.10 and am having a hard time actually finding a previous forum about it. Where do I get front and rear, what brand should I get, and do I need to swap out the differential housing/carrier to fit the 4.10 in there (if so where do I get the new housing). If anyone can help it would be appreciated, between me and the off-road mechanic, we cannot find anything specific. Thank You!

From another forum.

Quote:
After a very difficult search that in the end turned out to be solved by going to the source I've gotten the part number for a Dana Spicer 4.10 ring and pinion for the KK Liberty. A few people told me that the JK gears are the ones to use and they're correct but while trying to purchase a set, every list I saw said 02-12 KJ Liberty and every salesman told me that the JK gears wouldn't fit. Anyway, I called spicer and the part number is in fact the same as a JK. For 4.10 gears the number is 2005027-5. I provided them with the numbers stamped on my axel and there ya go. I even double checked with another source who ran the numbers and came up with the same answer. Unfortunately, they're $370.00 (oem) bummer.
Sorry the story was so long but I hope it helps.

Is this the 4.10 that is usable for the front diff? It doesn't say anything about it except that it's a 4.10.

If you read his post he says which one is for the front and which is for the rear before he posts the links.

I did see what he said, but the link doesn't say anything about whether or not that 4.10 is the one that would fit the D30.

The next part says "aluminum housing". The D30 is an aluminum housing, don't ask me why, but this is how you know that it is for the front axle.
KJ and KK have different front diffs. If you're regearing the KK front end, you need JK front gears.

That's what I've heard about the front diff, but which one? I guess there's reverse cut, short pinion, and normal and I have no idea which one I need.

JK front D30 gears are JK front D30 gears,no multiple choice to choose from.

The correct rears.............

http://jeepinbyal.com/jeep-liberty-2...nion-4-10.html

You need the newer metric bolt pattern which was changed from a SAE bolt pattern in '02(ring gear bolts).
