2010 KK Battery Replacement

I have a 2010 KK and the maintenance free battery is 3 years old, purchased in March of 2010. How many years can I expect the original battery to last? I was thinking I should replace it before the Pennsylvania winter kicks in. Am I premature? My battery is now as old as my heart transplant :-)

If its anything like my commanders battery your already on borrowed time. Bought it new in Jan 2010 and in Feb 2013 with no notice or indication it died. The weird part was that morning it was in the 20's and started no problem. That afternoon it failed when I stopped for gas.

In my humble opinion, I think your alternator/voltage regulator failed first putting 25 plus volts across your battery and cooking it. If it started in the morning when temp was in the 20's, then battery was ok then. At some point that day the voltage regulator (part of the alternator) failed and cooked the battery. This happened to my 1995 Jeep Wrangler battery.

I bought my 2010 in July but it was built in April, now have almost 49K on the clock no issues with the battery yet.
