Not going to diss Patriot owners but the Patriot and the Compass are a complete right turn from what Jeep has always been (then again so was the KJ with its IFS) I think they introduced it only because there was a niche that Jeep was missing (maybe it helps with meeting their mileage requirements?). I was surprised though that they recently announced the Liberty is being replaced but the Patriot and Compass are getting a makeover. I was expecting they would be going instead.

I just bought a 2010 Jeep Liberty base model, thinking about customizing it... any suggestions? Possibly new radio/sterio, new rims and tires, new paint job all suggestions appreciated.

Well I think I found my first mod.

My Liberty came with the 18-inch Echelon Chrome-Clad wheels. They are Aluminum wheels with glued on plastic covers, I didn't not notice this at the dealer. This was a $1,125 option and I am not to happy with it, how well do these wheels hold-up? I may look into a set of the upgraded wheels from Jeep.

I will have a hard time justifying $1000 for replacement wheels to my wife on her 4 days old Liberty.

I use my 2007 Power Wagon for off-road, this Liberty is for mainly street driving and maybe some snowy roads in the local mountains, sorry to disappoint you guys.

Another question, does the Liberty 2x4 rear axle have some type of limited slip differential in it?

I got one...:)

I just bought a 2010 for my wife, being delivered today (in about an hr), so she is very excited.

her sister bought a new 2010 Commander on Thursday and she loves it! Traded in a Lexus SUV, and she says she'll never go back to a "non" Jeep product again...

I have the 18" "Chrome" (Plastic) wheels on mine. It is two years old and they still look good, just be careful who you take it to for service. After having the tires rotate I found a large "cut/gash" on one of the spokes where it joins the outside rim. Course I didn't find it for a couple months. Not curb damage.

I have a 2008 liberty Limited with the sky slider roof, skid plates and steps the works. I also have a 2009 Wrangler Unlimited Sahara. I Love my Wrangler but I have to be honest the wife's liberty is more comfy and the engine is suited to that size of vehicle. Go for the Liberty or if you look around there are some smokin deals on Wrangler Unlimited (4 door model). I found a brand new 09 unlimited Sahara for $27000. That is a damn fine find. Considering you are looking at 30k for the Liberty limited. Either way get a jeep! You wont be sorry.

Question for Wnahikian

Wnahikian -

Curious to know what, if any, modifications you have made on your '10 Liberty ?
And, if so, were new tires one of them -
and if so, what new tires did you decide on ??

And last, did you ever figure out how to post a picture of your KK -
especially modified ??

Would love to see it....

Thanks!

I've had in my stable everything from the mighty Commander to the present Patriot Limited. Every Jeep we've owned (5) worked flawlessly. I'm about to pull the trigger and dump my '07 300C for a '10 Liberty Limited because of space. I work in the IT dept. for my company and we bring PC, servers, etc from one office to another and it's a pain to keep asking my wife for her Jeep everytime I need it. I've also owned many Mustang Convertibles so the Slider option is really making my choice a tough one. I'd like to get another Commander with a HEMI but the damn slider option keeps popping up in my head.
