2009 KK passenger side mirror replacement???

Hey fellow Jeepers,

I got a girl I work with who wants me to replace her passenger side mirror because it got tagged while it was parked on Belmont in Chitown. The mirror is cracked, and so is the housing that holds the mirror.

#1-There are two lil, t-20 or t-25 size bolts that go thru the bottom of the mirror housing. Do I just need to remove these to replace this portion?

OR

#2- Is it necessary to replace the whole housing and mount that attaches to the door? (Which from what I've read, I need to remove the door panel?)

Any suggestions, or help would be greatly appreciated. I've really only ever worked on my old TJ and my LJ so not much experience with the KK. Thanks!

From the 2009 KK FSM:

1. Partially remove the door trim panel as necessary to gain access to the mirror. (Refer to 23 - Body/Door - Front/PANEL, Door Trim - Removal) .

2. Disconnect the electrical connector (3).
3. Remove the three nuts (2) and remove the mirror assembly (1).

From the 2009 KK FSM:

23 - Body / Door - Front / PANEL, Door Trim/Removal
REMOVAL

(See panel pic one)
1. Using trim stick C-4755 or equivalent, remove the door handle trim bezel (3).
2. Remove the power window switch (2) and disconnect the electrical connector (1).

(See panel pic two)
CAUTION: Do not attempt to remove the trim panel the conventional way. This door panel has hooks holding it to the door rather than push pins. Carefully follow these instructions in order to prevent unnecessary damage to the trim panel.
3. Using a very thin pry tool, release the cap screw cover (2) from the front door trim.
4. Remove the screws (1) from the front door trim.
5. Carefully remove the door trim panel from the door, by lifting upward until it is removed from the door lock and the mounting attachments (3) on the carrier plate.

I purchased a replacement mirror from Rock Auto for less than $65 landed. Fit finish and most funtion is fine. The halls effect sensor in the mirror is poor, the mirror does'nt return to the proper position when you put the Jeep into a forard gear.(must be done manually) The tip down feature is activated on the Jeep. Mirror is power, heated ,folding menory.

Hi everybody,
I'm a Peruvian guy who lives in Winnipeg, Canada. I am a big fan of the jeeps and I have a Liberty sport 2011, and I would like to know if the passenger side mirror and the housing of the 2009 kk is the same for the 2011? Because I broke mine and I've found a new original (mopar) replacement on Ebay but the seller told me that it fits the 2008 and 2009 KK's but it looks exactly the same...
Regards
Renato

I am pretty sure that all the KK mirrors are physically interchangeable from 08 through the end of the line. What may be different is the electrical connector. The heated mirrors use a different pigtail than the nonheated ones. So if the 2009 is a heated mirror from a Limited and yours is an unheated one from a Sport, you may have to do some manual wiring. Best to get a mirror with the same options so it is plug and play. You can also check out http://car-part.com for mirrors in your area, and some junkyards will also ship. You may be able to undercut the eBay price or at least talk him down.

Thanks, the ebay seller told that the part number is: 57010076AE. Actually my KK sport '11 has heated mirrors, maybe this replacement don't
