I cleaned the intake throttle body of my jeep last week and I immediately notice a difference in the idling. I must mention, I also replaced the spark plugs and it also contributed to my silky smooth idle.

The valve cover breather hose is plumbed back into the intake tract

Carbon buildup and a oil film residue can cause this:

Date Reported: MAY 01 2009
NHTSA Reference: #10030707
TSB Reference: #SB-18-013-09

Description: JEEP: IN COLD CLIMATES A MIL (check engine light) ILLUMINATION P0123 OR P0222 OR STORED DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE P0123 OR 00222 AND THE ETC LIGHT ILLUMINATED. This is a pic of my libby's throttle body after cleaning...

So, I tend to find that the Jeeps in my family (my old '98 XJ Cherokee, my mom's '06 WK Grand Cherokee, and my '08 KK Liberty) have a problem with squeaky brakes. Is that just because of the brake dust or something else? Anything I can do to fix that?

I haven't done anything to it yet. I don't want to screw up my brakes and anything else for that matter.

tooth brush ? ..... Actually, It was quite clean, so I cleaned it with a shop rag. They were No oily residue, just a little amount of carbon buildup (from the EGR).

This is the "recommended way" to clean the throttlle body

This is a TB from a 6yr old toyota

Some have suggested using carb cleaner to remove the oil deposit, But this is safe to use

About six months after I bought my liberty, I install the K&N filter. The valve cover breather hose was not connected back up and it began a "whistle" at idle and became louder as the speed increase.

I installed a "baby" "mini me" filter on the hose.(see pic).

If you installing a CAI system, make sure the breather hose air is connected back into the intake tract.

Try this chart it shows what should be lubricated to eliminate squeaks.

How many miles did you get out of the plugs you replaced? Were they the originals? How bad did they look?

I have 72,000 miles on my J-lib. I replaced the factory spark plugs every 30k miles. I was told the Bosch platinum will last 100k miles, so I will change them at that time.

There was an oily film on the a/c low pressure line (pic), I immediately thought it was freon leaking, but it was clean and the viscosity was not consistent with freon fluid. A/c runs cool as an eskimo's A hole.

Solved: On my last oil changed, I removed the funnel and some oil dripped on the a/c pressure line.... cleaned it up and ran the a/c. Cools like a bud light.

I have written about this so I am gonna fabricate something to remedy the problem. Every time you use the a/c, condensated water settle on the no. 2 spark plug coil pack. it is soon evaporated but I wish Jeep had routed the hose away from the coil pack.

whether it is platinum, titanium or frigging aluminum, NO SPARK PLUG will last 100,000 mile, so bosch, ngk, champion, a/c delco, autolite is blowing hot air
