This morning after pulling out of my driveway here in MA during a snow storm the ESP OFF message is being displayed on the dash along with the TCS Icon on the dash. I have shut the Jeep off twice to try and reset it but no luck.

Will this reset after it sits for a few hours? Is it possable some snow is stuck underneath?

Is it in 4WD Low? If not id disconnect the battery for 30 minutes then reconnect it.

Yes I was driving in 4WD Low. Does that make a diference?
I have never seem the message and light stay on my entire 30min drive to work.

You dont want to drive in 4 LO unless your going through VERY deep snow or offroading and you need to climb a steep grade or go through deep mud. Driving on the streets of MA, 4WD Hi will be more than sufficent. The ESP off message in 4WD LO is normal. What this does is raises the threshhold for the ESP to allow the wheels to spin more. Also 4WD LO should not be driven over about 25 MPH. Put it in 4WD HI

Also i dont know if theyve cleaned your streets up yet but if the streets are only wet DO NOT use 4WD HI or LO as this will cause binding in the DriveTrain and damage the Transfer Case. Only use 4WD when there is a good amount of snow on the ground because there needs to be enough slippage for the wheels because the front and rear axles are locked together in 4WD

I went back into 2WD and the messages still remained. Also tried 4WD HI and the same issue.

I went through a fairly large snow bank when pulling out of the driveway in reverse in 4WD LO

Its probably stuck in 4WD LO. Try rolling in Neutral under 5 MPH in 4WD LO then switch into 2WD. Or turn the key to the on position but dont start the Jeep, Hold the brake, Put it in Neutral, Then switch out of 4WD LO to 2WD

Tajee, ELT is absoulutely correct. click on the link below, click on the drivetrain that is in your KK and listen to the audio... also click on 2WD, 4WD HI and 4WD LO and listen to each audio.

agree with ELT, you might have not put it in neutral when u were trying to get it out of 4lo.
also do you have command track II or selec track II

Am I supposed to have the Jeep in N to change over? I've always just placed it in park.

Has to be in Neutral to switch into LO, HI you can be in Drive. If the Switch for 4WD says 4WD Auto its probably Selec Trac, If it says 4WD Lock, its probably Command Trac (Part Time)

Thank you for this information. I had the same problem and driving it in neutral worked.
