cj7 power plant swap
Jeep Information
Hi I am new to the Jeep forum and the Jeep family? I have a 1979 cj7 with the 304. It is now in need of a complete rebuild. So I have been looking around for a new power plant and have gotten my hands on a 401 with only 72,000 original miles on it. It was in a 1978 wagoneer automatic. I was able to test drive it and it runs great! I know I need to get a 401 flywheel for a manual tran. But do I need a pressure plate and clutch plate for the 401 or will the ones form the automatic work or the ones off my manual 304 work? Thanks for the help!!!!
