Looks like the trip odometer. It should show numbers once you start driving. Not 100% sure though, as I have an '08.

Definitely the trip odometer...its obviously acting up as it should be continually counting kms/miles as you drive. I'd say check your speed sensor in the transmission as I think that's the one that the odometer uses though I could be wrong. If your speedo is working I'd doubt anything is wrong with the rear speed sensor in the rear diff.

I did add this overhead console, do you think that might be why it's not working correctly? Everything else works perfectly fine, except this

I've read that if you got your OTIS from a vehicle pre 2000, the trip odometer will not work if you install it in a 2001 or later vehicle because the BCMs are incompatible...that could be the problem.

I read that too, this one came out of a 2002 concord. And I have an 02 liberty. So it should work, right?

Maybe it could be a compatibility issue since it did come from a different vehicle. The Concords VSS (vehicle speed sensor) may have a different pulse signal than the Liberty. There is another thread with similar issues. http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f28/o...-help-2490593/
Turns out it was a compatibility issue from a different year KJ.

haha turns out I was the one that posted the info and helped him out, but I already knew that info, I didn't know that this would be an issue as far as compatibility for that feature...

Sorry, didn't mean to step on anyone's toes. I have read elsewhere that this was the issue, and I found your thread to follow the same path.

No problem at all, I just thought the thread looked a little familiar I've ordered another one but an evic from an 02 grand cherokee, maybe this'll work. Thank for the help!

Let me know how it works. I have my eye on one at my local salvage yard, but I haven't taken the plunge yet as that I haven't heard that many success stories on these yet.

the one I have works perfectly fine and is accurate, the only thing that doesn't work is this thing in the picture. It was easy to install and I actually bought a harness for it on eBay. If I had to install it again, I would.

Just an update, installed an EVIC from an 02 GC and everything works properly, even all the menu features. The only thing that doesn't work properly are the graphics displayed when doors are open. When drivers door is opened, it works. But when any other single door is opened it says "all doors open" with the vehicle displayed with all 3 doors open except drivers. Other than that, it works perfectly. I did notice it was a tight squeeze though compared to the OTIS. It also doesn't power on/work when the key is turned to the left, as my other one did. Is this normal? Also, the OTIS made the vehicle chime when any buttons were pushed on it, the EVIC does not. Is this normal? Finally, does anyone know an approximate cost on how much it would be to get the BCM reprogrammed to the EVIC? Thank you
