Sorry to see you got hit by the storm. Hopefully you were safe at home when it moved in. I heard it was crazy out on the roads.

I was. If I wasn't parked underneath a tree, it would have been worse. The hail was 1.5 times the size of a golf ball. It was enough for the insurance company to total it.

The head replacement managed to pinch my AC hose enough that it leaked. So FINALLY I got the new hose in and vacuumed the system and charged it. Nice cold AC. Oh yeah! This will keep the wife happy.

Completed my first project on my daughters 2004 Liberty tonight. I studied on how to repair leather seats, so this is my first time doing this. I read ALOT, and watched videos. I found the exact color match for the seats in my Jeep. Leather paint is made by SEM #17253 which is discontinued and REALLY HARD TO FIND.. I bought 2 cans and they came in today. I also read on the Ferarri Forums, that Dap Dynaflex 230 Latex caulk is really good as a leather filler. So I bought some 240 grit sandpaper, some scotch bright pads, a plastic putty knife and the caulk at Lowes.. Total project cost ~ $50, but I have 1 complete can left over to touch up later on. I did both front seats. The passenger side just needed a little touch up, no fill. The drivers seat was a mess, so I spent about about 4 hours total on this project.

Here are some pics:

BEFORE.. I removed the seat to do this work to avoid overspray:

The Leather paint I used:

The Final result.. Not too shabby for my first time.. The seat was really rough to begin with:

Wow, JB, you did a great job restoring those seats!!! As far I remember your restored seats looks like new... really, I saw these seats when the Liberty Limited started to sell on 2002. I loved the limited model with those leather seats, but my wife preferred the fabric ones... my wife won.

My rides:
2002 Jeep Liberty Sport (my wife's ride)
1990 Jeep Comanche SporTruck (my great pickup)
2008 Dodge Charger R/T Road & Track Edition

The seat looks incredible but can I ask how they stay intact? Does the leather paint keep the caulking together? How do the seats look after some use?
