turbo jeep ?

I Think I wanna turbo my jeep any thoughts ?
Is it good? .. is wroth it ?
Bad idea ? am I going to blow up ?

From a post made by "tjkj" a while back, the rings are set too close to the top of the pistons on a KJ to support a boosted type setup without eminent destruction of the 3.7 in these puppies.

So, the answer would be bad idea.

not really, if you're going to drop the money to turbocharge your Jeep, you might as well get some custom forged pistons while you're at it.

Do you have any idea on the cost of doing this mod? With all the custom work needed,and yes it all will be custom along with custom PCM tuning,will most likely run you well over $5000-$6000 if not alot more.If you think it's worth it then by all means go for it but the gains will be small for the $$$ put out for it.Not to mention if you have the 42RLR trans your going to be playing russian roulette.

A lot of 3.7s are popping before 150K bone stock. if you add a turbo or supercharger, you're just asking to scatter parts all over the highway. I wouldn't do it if I were you.
