The problem with HIDs and LEDs is the reflector. It's almost impossible to create a replacement bulb in LED / HID that will work with a reflector that was designed for an incandescent / halogen bulb. It rarely has the proper cutoff, and you end up blinding oncoming drivers.

That's why the $400+/- kits cost so much. The cost to produce a proper reflector, including R&D.

I was curious how Mr socks was going to resolve they issue and create a replacement bulb.

Don't hold your breath waiting for Mr. Socks to provide feedback on his project. He has pretty much kicked the KJ community to the curb for reasons unknown.
