Trans problem

I have an 06 Liberty 2 wheel drive with 132k miles on it. Recently when driving the trans seemed like it slipped around 50mph. It slipped quite a bit more but not all the time and not consistently. Sometimes during acceleration or just cruising. The RPMs aren't jumping when it does it and there is no check engine light. I've since had the fluid drained not flushed and a new filter put on. Mechanic said there was no metal shavings or burnt smell and the filter was still good but put a new one on anyhow. Since the new fluid it has only slipped once. Anyone have a similar problem?
