On the top of the coil springs, is it the spring seat or insulator?

I'm thinking about replacing the top and bottom rubber the spring sits on. Do these go bad or is it something that rarely needs to be replaced?

Like anything else they ( the isolators) will deteriorate over time. With that said I've seen them with 200,000 on them and still pretty good shape . If you're doing a lift throw a new set in though

So they are called isolators then? What are the spring seats?
