TMPS Tire Pressure Sensor Replacement Question

The tire sensor valve on my front left tire had a leak so I temporarily put in a standard valve in the tire.
My question is if I get a replacement sensor and install it would it automatically start working again?
Or do I need to bring it to the dealer to be programmed?

It will start working after you drive a short distance but you can write down the esn from the sensor and the dealer can program it in for you. But by time you get to the dealer everything should be normal

You can get a seal for that sensor. That would be a lot cheaper than getting a new sensor.
