Tires for 2.5" lift KJ

What tires should I put on kj after my 2.5" strut/spring/shock lift. Ill be on the the road 85-90% of the time, basically a weekend warrior type deal. I am buying rock krawler 16 inch wheels. I have BFG A/T Kos, Firestone Destination A/T, and BFG Rugged TERRAIN tires in mind. I want to know If I can Fit 265/70/16's on my jeep without trimming or Should I just go 255/70/16. Any other Ideas would be awesome, thanks!

245-75-16 is about where you need to be with 2.5" lift.

If you experience rub in the back of the front wheel wells when backing or in tight turns - pounding the pinch welds may be in order also. You also need to keep your back spacing on aftermarket rims about the same as your factory wheels.

awesome thanks, im gonna go with that size. My jeep came stock with 245/70/16's and there seems to be plenty of clearance, do you think that extra height from the 75 will force me to bend the pinch weld

thanks in advance!

Depends like mentioned above on wheel selection
a 7 inch wide with 4 inches of backspacing will wrok great
With that you can run 245-75s or possibly 265-70s ( almost the same height )
I would skip the BFG ATs much better tires out there any more to choose from
What lift do you have? Not all advertised 2.5 actually give you that
Where are you sitting in front middle of wheel to bottom of flare?

38,000 on my 265-75-16 Duratracs make sure you keep them rotated and they wear great. I still have 12-13/32s of tread left on mine yet. Do real well in all kinds of weather and just a little hum on the highway

No Jeep Liberty ever came out of the factory with 245/70R16's,the last owner put them on.Look on the drivers door jam sticker and that will tell you what your KJ came from the factory with as far as tire size.

That wheel won't fit wrong bolt pattern and also 8 inches wide will give you some issues as well more than a 7 inch wide

ahh okay, the door jam told me my jeep came with 225/75/16. The previous owner must have put the 245/70/16's on there. Theres no rubbing at full turn or backing up. I did not order my lift kit yet, but I am not going to hardcore off road, just some mudding fun with friends. All my friends use rustys 2.5 spacer kit on 33" with no problems for the past 3 years, but im going to use the 2.5 strut/spring kit (better than spacer, and I dont have $750+ to spend on a lift)

I would pass on Rustys spring lift, plus their rear shocks are junk.
front springs are the same rating as stock and will sag real quick
Out of all the KJ lifts I have done, only did one Rustys and it sagged back down to almost stock height in just over a year.
The spacer kits are worse

You can piece together an OME lift with top spacers, clevis, and extra rear isolators and Bilsteins for around a grand.

OME 927 front/ 948 rear springs and then Bilstein shocks all the way around
with Teraflex bumpstops in front 2 hockey pucks per side in the rear you'll have 2.5 inches Want a little more then there are some other little tricks
750 or so
not sure where the above 1000 is from??
one of the last ones we did at my garage, before and after shots
this one is sitting 3.25 inches over new stock height He was over an inch lower than stock height when he drove in LOL
