So the hinge on my shifter button broke, rendering it useless. A little work with a dremel and a nail and now I've got my own redneck shifter button. Added bonus: more theft prevention... just remove the nail

Which part is your comment in reference to? That the hinge on the button broke? That the quick easy fix (on a Sunday with no yards open) was a nail? Or that removing the nail is a "bonus" anti-theft mechanism? Or the fact that I have no qualms admitting that my Jeep is not a mall crawler and as such gets fixed however necessary?

That the hinge on the button broke? No, that would suck
That the quick easy fix (on a Sunday with no yards open) was a nail? Kinda cool & quick thinking
Or that removing the nail is a "bonus" anti-theft mechanism? BONUS
Or the fact that I have no qualms admitting that my Jeep is not a mall crawler and as such gets fixed however necessary? AMEN

Now I think you know where I was coming from...
My comment was not a slight in any way. I think your fix was kinda ingenious...
