Hello all. Looking for any advice/recommendations. 2006 Liberty 4WD w/95K miles. Codes P0700 and P0740. Took in to have detailed scan done by trans shop, and says that both the converter clutch and TTC Solenoid need to be replaced. Transmission itself seem to be good and in working order. (at least from what they can tell) Other than the codes, I notice nothing unusual in shifting of anything else with driving the vehicle.
Quoted me $2,100 to repair/replace the converter clutch/solenoid (seems in the ball park based on the labor, but not sure)
$4,500 for re-manufactured transmission (This seems nutz!) Think they were quoting from Mopar.
Looking online it seems like re-manufactured 42RLE transmissions mostly range from $1,400-$2,200 with typically 3 yr warranty. Looking at Street Smart, AutoZone, O'rileys, etc...
Any ideas on labor to drop out and replace the transmission? From what I can find online, looks like maybe 8hrs.
Trying to decide if I spend more and get a new transmission, or just get fixed. Everything else on the car is in great shape.
Any suggestions or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Need to make a decision on what to do soon.
Thanks.
