Rear Axle 2003 KJ - 2.8l CRD (Diesel) vs. 3,7l V6

Hello

Someone crashed into the rear right side of my KJ and bended the rear axle. Now i need a new one.

I searched in Germany for it, but most axles i can get are axles from a 2.8 CRD (Diesel). If i know it correct, the gear ration with 3,73 is the same on all automatic 2.8 and 3,7l KJ's. Please correct me, if this ist not correct.

Now i have a question about the disc brakes on it. On which "Diesel-Axle" i can find the correct/same Caliper/BrakeDisc combo for my 2003 KJ with the 3,7l engine?

Thanks for help and greetings from Germany, Pierre

All I know is that my Export 2.5 2002 Manual CRD has the 4.10 rear axle with Trac Loc fitted. This also came with drum brakes at the rear. The following year all our KJs came out with disk brakes standard and ABS.

My rear axle has a sticker on the rear axle stating "4.10 Trac Loc""

You can download the parts fiche for some of the KJs here....normally tells you which model the different parts are for.

2002 2.5 Export CRD Manual 5 speed.

The Dana 35 with drum brakes were used used up to 2002.5. Then they went with the Chrysler 8.25. all 2.8 CRDs with the Auto (. That all ours here in the states came with). Have the 3.73 gear ratio same as the gassers. Everything is the same between the differentials. Same brakes, axles, and bearings. Some came with the Trac loc. Some didn't. Now I don't know if the CRDs that came with a standard transmission there use the 3.73 or not. But regardless of engine set up all KJ's with the 8.25 will use the same brakes and calipers.
