Radiator Hose Burst
I had replaced my water pump and both radiator hoses about 14 months ago in my 2005 Jeep Liberty (3.7 L).
4 weeks ago I heard a funny clicking noise in my engine. It was non-excistent when I took the serpentine belt off. I somewhat located it to the water pump, power steering or alternator. There has been no decrease in gas mileage, harder to steer, failed starts, low oil, or low radiator fluid.
Then last night my upper radiator hose burst.
Changing it will be easy but I am wondering if there was something that caused the hose to burst and not just bad construction
Any help would be much appreciated!
That is weird, hoses shouldn't go that fast unless there was a defect. I've had hoses burst before but they were on a 1960's car and they were really old, The extra pressure should have bled off into the reservoir. Does the upper hose feed into the thermostat? or out from?
The thermostat is on the lower hose...
