please help

hoping someone can help this troop out, I have a 2006 liberty CRD that just started to have a pinging/knocking sound under mild/hard acceleration. it idles fine but when pinging its blowing out a grayish white smoke, im thinking I might have an injector issue, any thoughts on what I should do?

You say just started. Could it possibly be the fuel itself?

not sure, I had 1/2 tank when it started, so I don't think the fuel itself is the issue, I had a full tank of this diesel.

"Jeep Cares" has a good point.

Also, there's a lot of CRD guys on LOST and an active CRD section.
