P1491 radiator fan relay control circuit

Troublecode for this popped up on diagnostic test on my 2003 liberty sport 3.7L. What is the best way to actually test the sensor, how long can I drive before it becomes a major issue?

Any help??

Check the fan relay.

It's a major issue right now.Pull the relay connector off of the relay and if it's a little melted replace the relay ASAP.

The fan relay is located about 10" under the battery,as shown in the pic below.




Only get the upgraded OEM replacement from the dealership as it has a larger heatsink to keep it cool.The pic above is the factory one which the aftermarket junk ones will look like.
