Is the p-r-n-d-3-2-1 plate on the center console shifter supposed to light up?

Mine doesn't so I'm not sure if it needs a bulb or something or if they just don't light up.

It's on an '02.

It's supposed to light up. Mine is unreliable though. Often it won't light up when you switch the lights on, but it will when you actually shift the lever. I've never bothered to investigate what the problem is, but it's presumably a loose connection or similar.

it also could even be that the light bulb is loose.

From the 2003 Parts Fiche: MS82D083 Bulb 14v 1.4w Shift Bezel All automatics.

Give this a try at your Local Dealer.

2002 2.5 Export CRD Manual 5 speed.

It'll happen off and on, just hit it and it's fine. My problems always been a loose wire, too lazy to fix it.
