need some help please

my 06 liberty alarm has gone off three times in the last couple of weeks for no reason at all, it will go off for about 20-30 sec, then it go`s off. as far as i know it is OEM. wife also said the jeep kinda like shut off like for a sec then back to normal. does anyone have any ideas of what might cause this. i did a search
and did not find anything. thanks

Whenever you have electrical gremlins like that, the best thing to do is check the battery. Check the charge and for corrosion on the terminals. KJs are real sensitive to these issues.

Check if you have a switch under the hood on the passenger side to sense if the hood is being opened.

If there is an intermittant problem with this switch the alarm thinks that someone is trying to force the hood to hotwire the Jeep so the alarm goes off.

Try disconnect this switch or try shorting it out to see if that fixes the problem.....not sure which one of the two disables the hood-open function!
