My KK, the snow blow! :) *Video*

Guys, I can't even tell you how much fun I had with my Jeep last weekend up in the snow. Here's a short video of the wide open snow track I found. It was incredible! At times, I was 90 degrees sideways and going 40MPH. Wish I brought my tripod because I had to stick my Flip camera in the snow. If anyone in the Hesperia/Victorville area wants to know where this is, give me a holler. I bookmarked it on my GPS so I could give you the GPS coordinates.

Enjoy: http://youtube.com/watch?v=IWOhkEagwyM

Im jealous. The most snow we have gotten so far is like 2-3in and they salt before it starts snowing here.

You bet! Was having so much fun I didn't want to leave. That spot is about an hour's trek from my home but I'm thinking about making the journey again when I get back from my trip across the country to spend Christmas with family.

Anyone in SoCal want to go with?

I almost did buy a 2WD. In fact I was so close to doing it, it's scary now looking back. I hate to say it since you did, but I'm very glad the guys on this board talked me out of it. It was a couple grand more, but well worth it to have 4WD. Never would have even attempted this without it.

Last year when we picked up our Liberty we drove it to an empty, icy parking lot and proceeded to get a quick education on exactly how the ESP works on the Liberty. Basically we would run it forward, then slam on the brakes and try to spin it around. Worked great with the ESP off, but with the ESP on the spins were lackluster at best. I was surprised just how much control the ESP provided on the icy surfaces. Without ESP it was nothing to spin in at least one full 360 degree turn. With it turned back on, I was lucky to get 90 degrees.

I'm sure it must have looked funny to the lone security guy watching this couple spinning their new Jeep on a Sunday afternoon, but it helped me understand just how much the Liberty could be pushed. Not real world conditions, obviously, but definitely a good taste of what we can expect should we ever need to rely on it.

All depends on the driver, too. I'm fairly experienced at on-road driving so I know how to correct slides and stay locked in a controlled slide. Had I not been controlling the side, I would have definitely just spun around and around in that snow.

That really sucks. The getting stuck part that is. I carry around these traction devices I picked up at Canadian tire up here in the great white north - http://www.securimark.ca/RegularTraction.html they were about 20bucks for the pair and have saved my arse more than once - even got our 2wd vibe out of a pretty good drift. For another 20 bucks you could also buy a kick *** shovel and a comealong. I wouldn't spend much time off road without a few simple tools.

I'm glad you did get the 4wd Liberty - the red looks awesome - good luck getting back on pavement.

It's really cool that some guys from the forum came out to help you. I belong to a few Jeep websites and this one gets a lot more activity than most.
