Is my 2003 dead?

3.6L V6 manual. Multiple cylinder misfires and #2 misfires. There is a ping/knocking noise from the engine that I can also feel in the gas pedal. #2 does hold compression. Thoughts?

Pull the "valve" cover and see if you threw a rocker from #2.

I pulled the ignition coil and spark plug. Both are fine. I will pull the valve cover tomorrow. I was thinking rocker or even timing chain.

I threw a # 2 exhaust a while ago. Fell out of the way but wicked misfire. Popped it back on and has been fine since.

#2 threw an arm. Getting new lifters and piecing it back together.

Can you get the arm back in without compressing the spring? If you can, you have probably dropped the #2 valve seat. These are notorious for doing this on that valve.

I could not get it back in. The lifter was totally seized. With the new lifter, I had to depress the spring to get it back in place.

Got it put back together. Still has an awful shake and it won't stay running at idle. There is now a PO 0155 code, which comes up as an O2 sensor. It will now be parted out and the carcass will be scrapped.
