Max Tire size for Stock 2005 Liberty Renegade - 245/70 R16?

OK... I just got a 2005 Silver Liberty Renegade (Rocky Mountain Edition) and would like to know what size tire I can stuff in there without any rubbing and without putting a lift on yet....

After looking at all the threads on this.... it LOOKS to me like the 245/70 R16 is the appropriate max size.... BUT.... I'm not sure if this is for pre-lowered (2002 or earlier) or lowered (post 2002) Liberty's....

Does anybody have a definitive answer to this? Will a 245/70 R16 fit in there without any rubbing? I might go with an AT this time instead of the MT's I almost always put on my Wrangler's in the past.

On another note, it looks like BFG's largest MT near that size is a 235/70... I guess if I want an MT in there I can go with that?

I'd like to see someone's experience with this as well. The FAQ doesn't seem to clearly answer this question or I'm not reading it right. Of course, I was never accused of being the brightest bulb in the box either...

After looking around, there does seem to be some variance depending on whether the tire is an A/T or M/T, the manufacturer, etc. I'm getting the impression that it is a close fit and that other factors may push a certain tire brand/model over the limit even in the same metric size.

I'd really like to get 245/70R16 Firestone Destination A/Ts to run on a stock '05 Liberty Renegade, but the tire shop has to order them so it would be nice to know in advance what to expect. Anyone have experience with this make/model and size on a stock Renegade?
